NASA/NSSC is seeking to procure twenty specialized zero-bias detector circuits to be mounted into waveguide channels by NGC. The requirement includes twelve WR1.5ZBD circuits operating between 575 and 750 GHz for use in a 670GHz receiver, and eight custom WR2.8ZBD circuits operating between 200 and 240 GHz for a 220GHz receiver. Both components consist of VDI ZBD diode chips soldered to passive circuits with specific responsivity and noise equivalent power performance standards. The government intends to award a sole source contract to Virginia Diodes, Inc. under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), as no other compatible technology was identified for the required frequencies. This procurement is classified under NAICS code 334419 and is designated as a total small business set-aside. The items will be shipped to the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, with the place of performance located in Charlottesville, Virginia.
