Anthony Madrid

Anthony Madrid serves as Renewable Resources Staff for the San Juan National Forest, operating under the U.S. Forest Service within the Department of Agriculture. In this role, he supports the agency’s mission of ecological stewardship by managing procurement activities for critical forestry support services. His responsibilities include planning, soliciting, and administering contracts that enable forest health initiatives, habitat restoration, and infrastructure maintenance. Madrid specializes in acquiring technical and field-based services essential to sustainable forest management, ensuring compliance with federal environmental and procurement standards while aligning acquisitions with the Forest Service’s strategic conservation goals. Madrid maintains consistent working relationships with a focused group of contractors, including MEDVED GLOBAL INC, EBSS UNLIMITED, LLC, and VALENCIA, DAN. These vendors are regularly engaged to deliver specialized support activities such as vegetation management, invasive species control, trail maintenance, and ecological monitoring. His procurement approach emphasizes reliability, technical proficiency, and on-the-ground execution, fostering long-term partnerships with firms that demonstrate proven experience in forest service operations and environmental compliance. Madrid’s contracting portfolio is entirely set aside for small businesses under FAR 19.5, reflecting a strong institutional commitment to socioeconomic equity and local economic development. He consistently prioritizes small business participation, ensuring that all procurements are reserved exclusively for small business concerns, thereby promoting capacity building among regional contractors with expertise in forestry support services. His primary procurement focus is on NAICS 115310—Support Activities for Forestry—which encompasses a broad range of services including forest inventory, prescribed burning assistance, fuel reduction, and wildlife habitat enhancement. Madrid’s expertise lies in procuring field-ready, science-informed support services that directly contribute to forest resilience, public safety, and ecosystem sustainability, making him a key conduit between ecological objectives and operational execution on the ground.
