Brant Dickerson

Brant Dickerson serves as a Contract Specialist within the FA8620 Aflcmc Wijk Big Safari organization, a critical element of the Department of Defense’s rapid acquisition ecosystem. He plays a pivotal role in executing agile, classified procurements for unconventional airborne systems tailored to special operations and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. His portfolio centers on the urgent integration of advanced avionics, sensor suites, secure communications payloads, and mission-specific electronics onto platforms such as the C-130 and MQ-9. Dickerson operates outside traditional acquisition timelines, leveraging expedited contracting authorities to deliver capability gaps with speed and operational urgency, often supporting time-sensitive, high-priority national security requirements. Dickerson collaborates closely with a select group of defense aerospace contractors and systems integrators with proven expertise in classified airborne modifications and rapid prototyping. These partnerships are typically formed with firms possessing active TS/SCI clearances, experience in military avionics retrofitting, and a track record of delivering under tight deadlines. His working relationships emphasize technical credibility, security compliance, and the ability to operate within constrained environments, often requiring non-traditional contracting vehicles such as OTAs or other flexible authorities to maintain operational tempo. Dickerson’s contracting activity reflects a strict focus on open competition, with 100% of his awards issued under no set-aside provisions. This underscores the mission-critical nature of his acquisitions, where speed, technical capability, and security clearance requirements take precedence over socioeconomic preferences. While small business participation is not formally prioritized in his portfolio, all vendors must meet stringent qualification thresholds tied to national security requirements. His primary procurement focus lies within NAICS 541519 (Other Computer Related Services), encompassing custom software development, embedded systems integration, signal processing, and secure data link development for airborne platforms. Dickerson’s domain expertise centers on mission-critical electronics, real-time data fusion, and classified airborne system modernization, making him a key enabler of the Big Safari mission’s rapid capability insertion ethos.
