Lexi Gibbons

Lexi Gibbons serves as a key procurement specialist within the FA8222 office of the Department of the Air Force, responsible for managing acquisitions of mission-critical aerospace and electronic systems. Her work directly supports the modernization of avionics, signal processing platforms, and secure command-and-control systems essential to air and space dominance. She specializes in the procurement of precision test instrumentation, embedded computing hardware, and custom software solutions tailored to high-reliability military applications. Gibbons ensures acquisitions align with stringent DoD technical standards and lifecycle sustainment requirements, often coordinating with engineering and systems integration teams to define performance-based specifications. Gibbons maintains a streamlined contracting approach focused on established industry partners with proven expertise in defense-grade instrumentation and embedded systems. While no single contractor dominates her portfolio, she consistently engages vendors with DODAC certifications, ITAR compliance, and experience in MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 environments. Her working relationships emphasize technical capability over volume, favoring firms with demonstrated success in rapid prototyping, ruggedized hardware development, and secure firmware integration for airborne and space-based platforms. Gibbons’ contracting activity is entirely non-set-aside, reflecting the specialized nature of the technical requirements and the limited pool of qualified vendors capable of meeting mission-critical performance standards. While small business participation is not formally prioritized through socioeconomic set-asides, she remains open to qualified small businesses that can demonstrate unique technical capabilities and compliance with defense-grade quality systems. Her primary focus lies within NAICS 334515, encompassing the manufacture of instruments for measuring and testing electrical signals. She procures high-precision test equipment, signal analyzers, RF emulators, and embedded data acquisition systems used to validate avionics integrity under extreme operational conditions. Her domain expertise centers on electronic warfare support systems, radar signal simulation, and secure data link validation—technical areas requiring deep aerospace engineering knowledge and rigorous procurement discipline.
