Smarter Document Badges in Document Hub 📄
Shared by Mitt • Documents that can't be text-parsed now show helpful, descriptive badges instead of a confusing "Failed" status — so you always know what to do next.
If you've ever uploaded a document to your hub and seen a generic "Failed" status, you know how unhelpful that is. Failed how? Can I still use it? What do I do? We fixed that.
What's New
Documents that can't be fully text-parsed now show descriptive badges that tell you exactly what's going on and what your options are.
Image-Only Documents
Blueprints, architectural plans, scanned images, and other image-heavy files now show an amber "Image Only" badge. A tooltip explains that these documents can still be viewed and analyzed using AI vision — they're fully usable, just not text-indexed.
Protected Files
Password-protected PDFs now show a "Protected" badge with guidance on how to unlock the file or re-upload an unlocked version.
Unsupported Formats
Files with embedded JavaScript or formats we don't support show an "Unsupported" badge, with a clear explanation of why and what to try instead.
How It Works
When you upload a document, CLEATUS processes it and assigns the appropriate badge if it can't be fully indexed. Each badge includes a tooltip with context. Image-only files remain fully accessible via the document viewer with AI vision — you haven't lost anything.
Why It Matters
A cryptic "Failed" status left users guessing whether a document was usable at all. Most of the time, it was — just in a different way. These badges make the situation clear immediately, so you can keep working without second-guessing your uploads.
Get Started
Head to your Document Hub and check any documents that previously showed an unclear status. If you have blueprints or scanned PDFs that were showing as failed, they'll now correctly show as "Image Only" and remain fully accessible.
