Smarter onboarding and a redesigned Capture Profile ✨
Set where you won't work, get instant feedback on your capabilities, and complete setup through a cleaner guided experience — all in a refreshed Capture Profile.

Hello everyone! We've shipped a significant refresh to the Capture Profile and the new-user onboarding experience. The changes make it faster to set up your profile accurately, easier to write capabilities that actually drive good recommendations, and clearer about where your company wants — and doesn't want — to work.
What's New
The Capture Profile has been redesigned with new tabs, smarter address entry, real-time capability feedback, and a built-in tips guide — all mirrored in the onboarding flow so new users hit the ground running.
How It Works
Tell us where you won't work
The Place of Performance section now has two separate lists. The first is where you actively want contracts — the same as before. The second is new: excluded states, where you'll never perform work. If your company won't operate in Alaska or Hawaii, mark them excluded and we'll filter them out of your recommendations automatically.
Enter addresses faster
Physical and mailing addresses now use a live address lookup. Start typing a street and the full address fills in and separates cleanly into individual fields. No more reformatting later.
Get instant feedback on capabilities
Before a capability is saved, CLEATUS now runs two quick checks:
- ✅ Rule-based checks — flags things like missing differentiators or descriptions that are too short to be useful
- ✅ AI review — reads the capability the way a buyer would, checking whether it communicates real value and is ready to match against opportunities
If something looks off, you'll see a yellow alert with specific suggestions for what to fix. You can edit and re-check, or save it as-is if you prefer. The goal is better recommendations, not gatekeeping — so you're always in control.
Learn what makes a great capability
A new tips guide on the Capabilities tab explains the formula in plain language: sell the service around what you do, not just the product. It includes before-and-after examples so you can see the difference at a glance.
Onboarding now walks you through the full profile
New users now complete setup through a clean four-step flow that mirrors the full Capture Profile:
- Company Details — addresses, geography (including excluded states), prime/sub preference, and set-asides
- Capabilities — same form, same tips, same real-time feedback as the post-signup view
- Preferences — refine the types of opportunities you want to see
- Experience — add past performances to strengthen your profile
Cleaner SAM.gov import
The "Import from SAM.gov" flow now opens in a focused dialog instead of expanding inline. Same data, much less visual clutter.
Why It Matters
Recommendation quality depends directly on profile quality. When capabilities are thin, vague, or describe products instead of services, the matches suffer — and you miss opportunities that should have been right in front of you. The new checks and the tips guide are designed to catch those issues before they get embedded in your profile, so your recommendations stay sharp from day one.
Get Started
Head to your Capture Profile and review your capabilities with the new tips guide open. Existing users can also update their excluded states under the Place of Performance section.
Happy bidding! 🏗️
