Keep SharePoint synced without write access πŸ”’

Hello everyone! We've added read-only SharePoint sync, so you can keep CLEATUS up to date with your team's files without giving CLEATUS permission to change anything in SharePoint. It is a simpler way to bring the documents you need into your workspace while meeting your security team's requirements.

What's New

With read-only SharePoint sync, you can choose read-only access when connecting SharePoint. Your synced folders update one way, from SharePoint into CLEATUS, so the source files stay under your team's control.

How It Works

  • Go to Settings β†’ Integrations and click "Set up" under SharePoint
  • Choose "Read-only", click "Connect with Microsoft", and approve the read-only connection
  • In the Document Hub, click the SharePoint import button and choose a folder
  • Turn on "Keep this folder in sync" for supported paid plans
  • New files, edits, renames, and deletions in SharePoint flow into CLEATUS automatically
  • To change a synced file, open SharePoint and make the edit there

Already connected with read and write access? Disconnect SharePoint and connect again to switch to read-only. Your synced folders will pick up where they left off.

Why It Matters

Many IT and security teams will not approve a connection that can edit or delete company files. A read-only connection keeps SharePoint protected while your team gets automatic document updates in CLEATUS, without needing a security exception for file changes.

Get Started

Go to Settings β†’ Integrations, click "Set up" under SharePoint, and choose "Read-only". Then import a folder from the Document Hub and turn on "Keep this folder in sync".

Happy syncing! πŸ”„
