FCC Forrest City, operating under the Department of Justice's Bureau of Prisons, focuses on the large-scale sustainment and operational security of a federal correctional facility. Its core mission centers on the continuous provision of institutional subsistence and the maintenance of secure physical infrastructure. Strategic priorities include the reliable procurement of high-volume food supplies and the reinforcement of facility security through specialized metal fabrication and installation projects.
Procurement patterns are heavily weighted toward institutional food service, specifically the acquisition of perishable and non-perishable grocery items, bakery products, and dairy. The agency frequently utilizes combined and solicitation-based contract types for quarterly food replenishment. Additionally, the agency procures specialized facility modifications, such as sallyport grill fabrication and closed-loop water treatment systems, to maintain security and utility standards.
The agency primarily targets vendors within the food manufacturing and wholesale sectors, specifically those under NAICS codes for miscellaneous food manufacturing and general line grocery wholesalers. There is a strong preference for Small Business Administration set-asides, indicating a strategic commitment to utilizing small business vendors for both subsistence and specialty trade contracting.
FCC Forrest City is a subordinate organization within the Federal Prison System of the Department of Justice. Its procurement scope encompasses a broad range of operational needs, from daily dietary requirements to complex facility engineering and security hardware installations.
