SEQUOIA SCIENTIFIC, INC

Sequoia Scientific, Inc. specializes in the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of high-precision optical and hyperspectral instrumentation for environmental and industrial monitoring. The company develops submersible hyperspectral transmissometers, backscatter sensors, and in-situ analytical systems used to measure ocean optical properties, particulate dynamics, and water column absorption—critical for remote sensing validation and climate research. Their technical expertise spans optical sensor engineering, ruggedized marine electronics, and field-deployable data acquisition systems, with demonstrated proficiency in repairing and calibrating complex instruments like the LISST-HOLO2 and LISST-ABS. A key differentiator is their ability to deliver mission-critical hardware under tight timelines for operational science missions, including rapid-response repairs and custom housing solutions for extreme environments. The contractor maintains a strong, recurring relationship with NASA, providing specialized instrumentation for ocean color validation, satellite calibration, and field campaigns. Their work with the Department of Defense focuses on urgent maintenance of underwater sensing platforms supporting oceanographic research, while the Department of the Interior engages them for precision equipment servicing in terrestrial and aquatic monitoring programs. These partnerships reflect a pattern of trusted, mission-critical support for agencies requiring reliable, field-proven instrumentation in remote or harsh conditions. Sequoia Scientific’s primary focus lies in analytical laboratory instrument manufacturing and instruments for industrial process control, translating into practical applications in oceanography, atmospheric science, and environmental sensing. They serve the geospatial and Earth observation markets with hardware that bridges laboratory analysis and field deployment, positioning them as a niche provider of turnkey optical measurement systems for scientific and defense applications. As a small business structured as a 2L entity based in Bellevue, Washington, Sequoia Scientific operates without federal certifications but maintains a focused presence in the federal science and technology procurement market, delivering specialized hardware solutions to mission-driven agencies.
