10-W continuous-wave pump lasers at 532nm– Combined Sources Sought/Notice of Intent to Sole Source

***THIS IS A COMBINED SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE***

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing three (3) 10-W continuous-wave pump lasers at 532nm. If no alternate sources are identified, the Government intends to issue a Sole Source Award to Newport Corp., 1791 Deere AVE Irvine, CA 92606 (UEI: JH1RHJ5R7TT1) under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516.

NIST has a need for three (3) 10 Watt continuous-wave pump lasers at 532 nm that meets or exceeds the following draft minimum specifications:

   1. Compatible with existing Coherent Mira Ti:Sapphire laser
   2. Output Characteristics
      1. Output Power  10 W
      2. Wavelength     532 nm
      3. Spatial Mode   TEM00
      4. Beam Quality (M2) <1.1
      5. Beam Diameter (1/e2) 2.3 mm ±10%
      6. Beam Divergence <0.5 mrad
      7. Polarization >100:1 vertical
      8. Power Stability ±1% (Measured over 2-hour period, after a 30-minute warm-up)
      9. Beam Pointing Stability  2 µrad/ °C (Measured at farfield, after a 30 minute warm-up)
      10. Noise   <0.04% rms (Measured over a 10 Hz to 0.1 GHz bandwidth at the 10 W output power)
   3. Two Platforms to match the pumps’ lasers’ beam height to the input beam heights of the two Spectra-Physics Tsunami lasers and one Coherent Mira laser should be included in the purchase.
   4. Pump lasers must include a guarantee that they will allow our existing Spectra-Physics Tsunami laser to meet its original specifications.

NIST conducted market research from September 2025 to April 2026 by attending conferences, speaking with colleagues, performing internet searches, and speaking with vendors to determine what sources could meet NIST’s minimum requirements.  The results of that market research revealed that only Newport Corp (UEI: JH1RHJ5R7TT1) appears to be capable of meeting NIST’s requirements.

In responding to this notice, please DO NOT PROVIDE PROPRIETARY INFORMATION. • Details about what your company is capable of providing that meets or exceeds NIST’s minimum requirements.
