The Air Force has received a supplemental appropriation of approximately $49 million for the procurement of Lot 5 Maverick Missiles under Contract F08635-02-C-0137. This contract includes options for Lots 4, 5, and 6, with Lot 4 already exercised on May 6, 2003. The purchase involves acquiring Maverick AGM-65 H/K Guidance and Control Sections and Maverick CATM-65K Guidance and Control Sections from Raytheon Co., Tucson, AZ, on a sole-source basis due to Raytheon's exclusive data rights. The contract also covers provisions for follow-on training, support, technical data packages, warranties, circuit card assembly harvesting, and related technical support. No solicitation is available for this procurement because the necessary data rights restrict distribution. While the notice encourages prospective subcontractors to engage directly with Raytheon, it clarifies that the USAF has not committed to specific timelines or quantities for Lots 5 and 6, making the stated dollar amounts speculative. The estimated combined value of these two lots, should they be exercised or awarded, is approximately $75 million. This contract update serves to inform interested parties of the procurement status and opportunities related to the AGM/CATM-65 Maverick Missile system, highlighting Raytheon’s key role as the prime contractor and data rights holder.
