The contract pertains to the procurement of 35 units of a structural bracket (NSN 1R-1560-015302390-V2), intended for delivery FOB origin to Honeywell International Inc., located in Tempe, Arizona. This acquisition is being conducted under a sole-source negotiation, meaning the government plans to negotiate exclusively with the current supplier rather than seeking competitive bids. While this notice is not a request for competitive quotes, interested parties can express their interest and capability to fulfill the requirement; however, the government retains discretion over whether to pursue a competitive process based on the responses received. The decision to limit competition stems from the government’s acknowledgment of insufficient, accurate, or legible data to procure the part from other sources. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense’s Navsup Weapon Systems Support office based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The procurement relates specifically to the solicitation number SPRPA109G002XGCDY and was posted on January 30, 2010. The notice emphasizes the limited ability to source the required parts outside the incumbent supplier and highlights the government’s intention to consider quotes submitted prior to the award date. Key notes associated with the contract further clarify the procurement’s nature and constraints, underscoring the sole-source negotiation strategy for this essential component.
