The City of Moreno Valley is seeking bids for the procurement of 15kV rated medium voltage underground distribution cables, specifically 1000 and potentially 1100 Aluminum cables with either 100% or 133% insulation, supplied in reel lengths of 1000 or 1100 units. The cables must be new, unused, and come with a factory warranty, conforming to the latest production standards similar to those supplied to Moreno Valley Utility. The City is particularly interested in pricing for both cable types and insulation configurations, and vendors supplying 1100 Aluminum cable should include separate pricing and lead time estimates for that option. The procurement process is scheduled to culminate with a purchase order issuance expected between late January and early February 2025, with the contract size estimated between $500,000 and $1,500,000. The solicitation, identified as number 2024-078 and posted on December 13, 2024, is managed by Moreno Valley Utility in California. The response deadline is December 27, 2024. Additionally, vendors must adhere to specified insurance requirements outlined in related documentation, covering workers’ compensation, general liability, and automobile liability, to ensure compliance with procurement standards. The overall goal is to secure reliable, high-quality medium voltage cables that meet the utility’s specifications for ongoing and future electrical distribution needs.
