The 48th Contracting Squadron at RAF Lakenheath plans to award a sole source contract to Sargent Fletcher, located in El Monte, California, for the procurement of thirty-six MXU Cargo/Travel Pods (P/N 402136-3) specifically designed for the AV-8B aircraft. These pods are required to meet the specifications outlined in the Naval Technical Order A1-AV8BB-LWS-460, Change 2, which governs certification standards for conventional weapons and related equipment. The contract authority is based on 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), and no other supplier can meet the agency's requirements, justifying the sole source approach under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1. The cargo pods are to be delivered to multiple locations, including Yuma, Arizona; Cherry Point, North Carolina; and China Lake, California. Though the government is issuing this notice to inform interested parties, it is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. Responses received will be evaluated only to determine whether to proceed with a competitive procurement. The contracting officers handling this acquisition are Bonnie L. Yoakum and Luis L. Crespo, who can be contacted via their provided emails for additional information. The procurement falls under NAICS code 336413, which pertains to aerospace products and parts manufacturing.
