The Naval Air Systems Command Aviation Support Equipment Program Office (PMA260) conducted an eCASS Industry Day event on September 20 and 21, 2007, aimed at providing industry participants with insights into the program and gathering feedback on the initiative to modernize the U.S. Navy’s Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS) Automated Test Equipment. This modernization effort, referred to as eCASS, seeks to replace existing equipment with updated technology to enhance operational capabilities. The event included presentations and one-on-one sessions, and briefing slides from the Industry Day were made available to interested parties. The Government extended the deadline for submitting follow-up questions and comments to October 5, 2007, with responses being prepared and set to be shared broadly, except for proprietary company information which will be addressed privately. The information provided remains preliminary, and the final Request for Proposal (RFP) will define the Navy’s formal eCASS requirements and acquisition strategy. This posting is informational only and does not represent a solicitation or commitment to award a contract, nor does it obligate the Government to reimburse any costs incurred by interested parties. The Naval Air Systems Command emphasized that details are subject to change as the program evolves, and any future solicitation will clarify the final requirements. Contractors and interested industry representatives were directed to submit questions to designated contacts within the Naval Air Systems Command for further clarification. The effort falls under NAICS code 336413 and is managed by the Department of Defense with a focus on aviation support equipment modernization.
