AI Contract Overview

This contract, issued by Navsup Weapon Systems Support, is for the procurement of 137 units of the ISD Threat Indicator under NSN 1R-1680-015051113-CB with delivery terms set as FOB Origin. The item is currently classified as having an unstable design due to low process yields or marginal performance, meaning major configuration changes are expected that will eventually render the current version obsolete. Consequently, only limited acquisition from existing sources is anticipated until these design objectives are met. Because the item is flight critical and technical data is insufficient for full and open competition, government source approval is mandatory prior to contract award. Only previously approved sources were solicited, and any new applicants must provide comprehensive documentation as outlined in the Naval Inventory Control Point Philadelphia Source Approval Information Brochure to be considered. Failure to provide the required data will result in the proposal being rejected, although the government reserves the right to proceed with awards based on urgent Fleet support needs.
