AI Contract Overview

This unrestricted procurement is for the monitoring, handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of approximately 350,000 gallons of collection holding tank discharge for the USS John F. Kennedy. The work is scheduled to take place from February 22 to 26, 2007, at Pier 14 of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia. A critical aspect of this effort is that the discharge is contaminated with fuel due to corroded pipes, making the exact level of contamination unpredictable. It is estimated that four FRAT tanks will be required to handle the combined gray and black water. The selected contractor is responsible for ensuring all work complies with EPA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Contractors must conduct a site visit to obtain necessary measurements and are liable for any damages to government property resulting from poor workmanship. Award will be granted to the responsible offeror based on the lowest price technically acceptable, with evaluations considering price, technical acceptability, and past performance.
