Full Description

2013 Tree Thinning and Fuels Reduction Services. The Colville National Forest requires tree thinning, whipfalling, lop and scatter of slash, hand piling services for silvicultural, hand firelines and hazardous fuel reduction purposes to increase tree vigor, tree health and fuels reduction work on the Three Rivers Ranger District and Republic Ranger District, Colville National Forest. Location of the work is in Stevens and Ferry Counties, Washington State, located in the NE portion of Washington State. This project requires the furnishing of all tools, equipment, materials, supplies (except those designated as Government-Furnished), labor, supervision, workman's compensation, unemployment insurance, transportation, and incidentals to perform all work necessary to accomplish the tree thinning. Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act registration and a Washington State Farm/Forest Labor License are required. The contract will have three base items and three options items. The Base Item 1 (Whipfalling) is estimated at 100 acres. Based Item 2 (Tree Thinning) is estimated at 300 acres. Base Item 3 (Fuels Reduction, Handpiling and Hand Fireline) is estimated at 450 acres. Option Item B (Tree Thinning) is estimated at 150 acres. Option Item C (Whipfalling) is estimated at 75 acres. Option Item D (Hand piling) is estimated at 150 acres. If all options are exercised, the total estimated acres will be approximately 1,225 acres. The Government will have until June 20, 2013 to exercise all options items. It is estimated that the work will begin September 9, 2013 with all work to be completed by June 28, 2015. The actual performance period will be listed in the solicitation. This project will be advertised as a written quotation and will be solicited under the Simplified Acquisition Procurement (SAP) rules and Commercial Item Procedures. Estimated issue date of the solicitation is on or about July 2, 2013. The actual due date will be listed in the solicitation. The proposed project listed here is a 100 percent small business set-aside. NAICS code is 115310, size standard $17.5 million. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered.
