The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors to provide transportation services for participants in its Long Island DDSOO Day Habilitation Programs, covering Nassau and Suffolk counties. The contract encompasses route-based round-trip transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities and staff traveling between their residences and the program sites. The procurement process emphasizes responsible bidding, requiring references, experience verification, financial stability, and applicable insurances. The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder offering the lowest estimated annual total cost, with all four Long Island Day Habilitation Programs being covered under a single contract for the period from 2024 to 2027. The bid submission deadline is May 10, 2024, with the bid opening conducted via WebEx. Notably, the procurement does not set goals for minority, women, service-disabled veteran, or disadvantaged business participation, and past vendors with similar contracts within the last five years are listed as references. The solicitation is managed by Heather Clausen, Contract Management Specialist, and the project is part of a broader effort to ensure reliable transportation services for individuals with developmental disabilities in the specified regions.
