The Douglasville ¿ Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority (the ¿Authority¿) is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the performance of the Anneewakee Retreat 20-Inch Sewer Line Rehabilitation (the ¿Project¿), as more fully described in the Invitation for Bids. The scope of work includes the provision by the bidder or contractor of all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work. The Project will be ¿turnkey¿ and require minimal involvement of Authority personnel.
The work to be performed shall include the rehabilitation of approximately 4,427 linear feet of existing 20-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) sewer line with one of, or a combination of, the following methods:
METHOD A ¿ Cured In Place Pipe (CIPP) lining;
METHOD B ¿ Open cut replacement with 20-inch SDR35 PVC (for depths of cover less than 15 feet) or 20-inch SDR26 PVC (for depths of cover greater than or equal to 15 feet);
METHOD C ¿ Sliplining with HDPE (minimum inside diameter 16-inch); or
METHOD D ¿ Swagelining with HDPE (minimum inside diameter 16-inch).
The Authority will provide a bypass line to take flow off the subject sewer main.
If the rehabilitation method, or combination of methods proposed by the contractor requires a road to provide access for vehicles and equipment, the Authority will construct a 12-foot-wide access road consisting of six (6) inches of #3 stone base and three (3) inches of commercial-grade graded aggregated base (GAB) along the entire length of the Project. At creek crossings, culvert pipes of adequate size will be installed and covered with rock to provide access. For bids in which the contractor elects to use an access road furnished by the Authorit
