2026 Pavement Management Program

The City of New Westminster is seeking qualified contractors to carry out the 2026 Pavement Management Program, covering approximately 62,800 square metres of roadway improvements across the city. The scope includes milling and repaving with warm mix and superpave asphalt, installation of crushed granular base and subbase materials, removal and replacement of roadbed, construction of concrete curbs and sidewalks with ramps, and installation of new catchbasins, manhole and valve box adjustments, traffic detector loop reinstatement, thermoplastic pavement markings, signage, and associated catchbasin leads. Environmental protection measures and comprehensive traffic control are required throughout the project. A total of about 7,070 tonnes of WMA asphalt and 6,030 tonnes of superpave asphalt will be used, along with 2,220 tonnes of crushed granular base and 500 tonnes of granular subbase. The project also involves approximately 670 cubic metres of roadbed removal, 395 cubic metres of common excavation, and 240 square metres of concrete sidewalk work with ramps. Bidders must submit proposals in response to solicitation number BCNWIT-26-06, with all documentation available on the City’s Purchasing webpage. The tender was posted on June 4, 2026, and responses are due by June 23, 2026, at 11:00 pm Pacific Time.
