Full Description

BC Transit is seeking a reliable service provider with qualified healthcare professionals to conduct functional abilities assessments for individuals applying for handyDART services in the Comox Valley Regional Transit System.Over the past 30 years BC Transit has made large-scale improvements in the overall accessibility of its transit systems. Most are now serviced by low floor vehicles accessible to people using wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, and other mobility aids. BC Transit has also been moving to describe its accessible services as a “family of services,” including the low floor fixed-route services, lift-equipped community shuttles, and handyDART. handyDART is an accessible, door-to-door shared transit service for people with permanent or temporary disabilities that prevent them from using fixed-route transit without assistance from another person. This Request for Proposals is an invitation by BC Transit to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Functional Abilities Assessment Services related to handyDART services in Comox Valley, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”).Full project details can be found on the BC Transit’s online portal at:http://bctransit.bonfirehub.ca/opportunities/104705
