The contract modification extends the existing fixed-price requirements contract for the supply of 91 high-use spare parts for the Honeywell ATF-3 turbofan engine, which supports the Coast Guard's fleet of HU-25 jet aircraft. The extension covers two additional option years, with the first running from October 1, 2003, through September 30, 2004, and the second from October 1, 2004, through September 30, 2005. If both option years are exercised, the contract period will be extended from its original end date of September 30, 2003, to September 30, 2005. This contract modification will be negotiated on a sole-source basis with Honeywell International, Defense and Space division, located in Tempe, Arizona, since all parts specifications and data are proprietary to the manufacturer and not available through the Coast Guard. The sole-source negotiation aligns with applicable federal acquisition regulations. The contract ensures ongoing support and maintenance availability for critical engine components essential to the Coast Guard's aviation readiness.
