This contract pertains to the procurement of a specialized liner assembly for the F-100 series engine augmentor, designated under solicitation FA8104-08-R-0043, managed through the OC-ALC at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The item, identified by NSN 2840-01-443-4069 and P/N 4083170, is a cobalt-based alloy component measuring 58 inches in length and 41 inches in diameter. It functions to enclose the combustion area and shield the augmentor duct from extreme gas temperatures, making it critical for engine operation and durability. The contract requires 15 units with delivery scheduled by July 31, 2008, and mandates First Article Testing and qualification of sources prior to award, reflecting the high-performance and safety standards expected for this aerospace part. Qualification and source development inquiries are directed to a designated office at Tinker AFB. The procurement follows a limited-source justification under federal acquisition regulations, restricting competition to qualified suppliers such as Dynamic Gunver Tech. and United Technologies Corp. The solicitation emphasizes evaluation criteria that include price and past performance, with a formal source approval process and an Ombudsman available to address contractor concerns confidentially during proposal development. Contact information is provided for solicitation details and submission procedures, including fax options. This acquisition underscores the critical nature of specialized engine components requiring stringent supplier qualification and testing to ensure compliance with military specifications.
