This is a five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity IDIQ contract action issued by the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Huntsville for the procurement of depot-level repairable spares for T-700 turbine engines used in UH-60 and AH-64 weapon systems. The requirement covers a variety of critical aircraft engine components, including compressor rotors, turbine disks, turbine shafts, combustion chamber liners, and lubricating coolers, with quantities ranging from 10 to 250 units per National Stock Number. The acquisition is restricted to General Electric Company as a sole-source award because the company possesses the unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge necessary to maintain part quality. The government lacks the proprietary technical data required to compete the procurement, and obtaining such data or pursuing reverse engineering is deemed economically impractical. Due to the nature of the components, this acquisition contains critical technology and technical data restricted by the Arms Export Control Act and the Export Administration Act, prohibiting release outside the United States without government approval.
