NA The U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) is conducting a market investigation to identify possible sources of a lightweight visual/infrared obscuration system for application on the Future Combat System (FCS). The Operational Requirements Document for the Future Combat Systems (FCS), dated 25 Nov 02, indicates that the FCS must be capable of deploying multi-spectral obscurants and counter measures to defeat enemy acquisition systems and screen friendly actions. In addition, a side-by-side obscuration test will be conducted against the U.S. Army M56 Smoke Generating System. The other system will not be mounted on a HMMWV. It will be subjected to hot/cold operational tests in a chamber and hot/cold laboratory vibration tests. The vendor will supply technic al support during this integration and test phase.
