28 -- T56 engine retrofit kit parts for Boroscope plug and Igniter Port plugs

The Naval Air Systems Command plans to issue a modification to an existing delivery order with Rolls-Royce Corporation under the basic ordering agreement N00019-00-G-0154 to exercise optional line items for T56 engine boroscope plug and igniter port plug kit parts. This action will increase the total quantity of these kit parts ordered to 2,362 sets, in accordance with Engineering Change Proposal Number 2132R1. Rolls-Royce Corporation is the sole source for these components, as it is the only manufacturer with the technical data required to engineer and produce the configured parts for the T56-A-427 turboprop engine. This modification stems from a presolicitation issued by the Naval Air Systems Command, part of the Department of Defense, headquartered in Patuxent River, Maryland. The exercise of these optional line items ensures continued support for the retrofit and maintenance of the T56 engine, integral to the performance and reliability of naval aircraft. As the exclusive supplier, Rolls-Royce’s role is critical in maintaining the engine's operational capabilities and meeting Navy maintenance requirements under this delivery order.
