DESCRIPTION: ARMY CONTRACTING COMMAND-REDSTONE IS PROVIDING UPDATED REQUIREMENT DOCUMENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING POTENTIAL RESPONDENTS AN UNDERSTANDING OF DRAFT REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) W58RGZ-15-R-0070 AND OVERALL DRAFT ACQUISITION. THE UPDATED DOCUMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS), SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT (SRD), SPECIFICATION DEVELOPMENT DOCUMENT (SDD), CONTRACT DATA REQUIREMENTS LIST (CDRLS), AND DOCUMENT SUMMARY LIST (DSL). PROGRAM OVERVIEW: THE ITEP IS A 3000 HORSEPOWER ENGINE PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES ADVANCED TURBOSHAFT PROPULSION CAPABILITY PRIMARILY FOR APPLICATION TO THE ARMY'S BLACK HAWK AND APACHE HELICOPTERS. THE ITE IS BASED ON THE OPERATIONAL ENERGY INITIAL CAPABILITIES DOCUMENT APPENDIX C FOCUSING ON FUEL AND MAINTENANCE SAVINGS AS WELL AS WORLDWIDE PERFORMANCE IN HIGH/HOT CONDITIONS AT 6,000 FT / 95 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. ITEP IS FOCUSED ON THE DEVELOPMENT AND QUALIFICATION OF A NEW CENTERLINE, TURBOSHAFT ENGINE THAT IS NEEDED TO SUPPORT OPERATIONAL ENERGY REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO ENSURE THE BLACK HAWK AND APACHE REMAIN OPERATIONALLY EFFECTIVE WELL INTO THE 21ST CENTURY.
