The Department of Defense, through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support in Philadelphia, is seeking a single qualified contractor, specifically General Electric Co., to repair and modify two overspeed valves and one gas turbine output shaft for the Navy's S-70 helicopter, which is intended for Greece. The government lacks the necessary data to perform these repairs or manufacturing tasks internally, and therefore, source approval from NAVSUP WSS is required prior to contract award. The project involves providing labor, materials, and parts to restore the government-owned components to operational condition, with a focus on ensuring the items meet specified technical standards. Interested parties are invited to submit capability statements within five days of the notice, and all responses will be considered, although the government retains sole discretion to determine whether to proceed competitively or sole-source the contract. The solicitation emphasizes that this is a non-competitive, sole-source procurement under FAR 6.302-1, with the intent to award to General Electric Co. without delay, even if source approval is pending. Contractors must submit their source approval packages if not already approved, following the guidelines outlined in the NAVSUP-WSS Source Approval Information Brochure for Repair. The contract covers the repair of two overspeed valves (P/N: 6044T78G03, NSN: 2915 011502933) and one gas turbine output shaft (P/N: 3065T21G01, NSN: 2840 014821870), with the deadline for responses set for June 23, 2025. Additional details and submission instructions are available via the provided contact email and the SAM.gov link.
