AI Contract Overview

This contract is for the procurement of 85 metallic balance seals for F100 engines, identified by NSN 2840-01-442-9118 and Part Number 4083668-01. These nickel alloy components are critical for controlling thrust ratios within the augmenter nozzle throat area. Due to the high-temperature requirements and precise dimensions of the parts, the government emphasizes that quality depends on strict process control rather than inspection alone. To be eligible for award, offerors must obtain engineering source approval from the design control activity and meet qualification requirements per FAR 52.209-1. The final selection will be based on a combination of price and past performance. The delivery deadline for the components is January 31, 2008, with technical drawings and specifications available via the FEDTEDS system.
