The Air Force has issued a notice in accordance with FAR 9.2 indicating that it has established specific Qualification Requirements for manufacturers interested in producing certain items, specifically the Link Connecting Opt and Gearshaft-Bevel-Spur Gearbox Drive identified by their respective National Stock Numbers and Part Numbers. This announcement serves as a source approval opportunity rather than a solicitation or request for proposal, meaning companies must undergo a qualification process to be considered as approved sources for these items, although no immediate procurement is planned. Interested companies can obtain the Qualification Requirements by submitting a written request to the Small Business Office at Tinker Air Force Base, with instructions emphasizing no phone requests and that only direct written requests to the specified office will be accepted. Supporting technical documents and drawings may also be requested as outlined in the source approval information booklet. The notice provides clear guidance on how to initiate the qualification process but does not include specific dates for issues or responses, underscoring that this is an informational step to establish potential future sources rather than an active contracting solicitation.
