This contract is a total small business set-aside for the manufacture and procurement of annular and duplex ball bearings, specifically part number M17931-G043, adhering to MIL-B-17931 for quiet operation. The scope includes the production of these precision components, which are designated as source control items, meaning only Government-approved sources may be considered for award. The procurement is a DO-rated order, emphasizing its priority for national defense. Key technical requirements include strict adherence to mercury-free standards to prevent corrosion and toxicity in submarine and surface ship environments, as well as specific packaging requirements for matched bearing pairs to ensure they are not separated. Quality assurance is a critical component of this contract, requiring the contractor to maintain an inspection system compliant with MIL-I-45208 or ISO 9001/9002. Award will be based on the most advantageous offer, with past performance weighted more heavily than price. Deliveries are handled as F.O.B. origin, with electronic invoicing and payment processed through the Wide Area WorkFlow system.
