The Bureau of Land Management at the National Interagency Fire Center plans to contract exclusively with Vigil America, Inc. for the purchase of 60 Automatic Activation Devices (AADs). This procurement is justified under the FAR 6.302-1 provision for other than full and open competition, as Vigil America is considered the only responsible source able to meet the agency’s specific requirements for the BLM Smokejumper Program. No formal solicitation will be issued, and the notice serves to meet public posting requirements. While the procurement is restricted, other responsible firms with the capability to supply comparable products at a cost not exceeding the estimated amount are invited to notify the Contracting Officer by December 11, 2017, providing evidence of their ability to meet the requirement. Responses will be thoroughly reviewed before finalizing the order with Vigil America. All correspondence regarding this acquisition can be directed to Kathy Colson at the provided contact details. The solicitation falls under NAICS code 334511 and is managed through the Department of the Interior’s National Operations Center in Denver, Colorado.
