This contract involves a multi-year project to design, fabricate, install, and commission sixteen new hydraulic pump unit skids at the Aero-Propulsion Systems Facility located at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. These outdoor pump units, housed in concrete containment basins, provide hydraulic power to actuate valves in large air duct systems. Each skid consists of one to four variable volume, pressure compensated axial piston pumps, along with motors, filters, cooling units, circulation pump units with reservoirs, and dedicated control systems. The pumps are specified to deliver 100 gallons per minute flow at 3000 psi. The contract specifies five units with two pumps each, three units with three pumps, and eight units with four pumps respectively. The scope of work includes all phases from detailed design through fabrication, demolition of existing systems, installation scheduled in phases of one to three units at a time, testing, commissioning, and operator training. Modifications to existing hydraulic accumulator piping banks and structural supports for piping are also required.
