This contract, issued by the Department of Defense through the Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, concerns the repair and modification of air-gas desiccant driers under NSN 7H-4440-012813183. The requirement involves the teardown, evaluation, repair, and potential modification of units, with a specified quantity of 21 items and delivery terms set as FOB Origin. The solicitation process requires all firms to provide their CAGE code and adhere to strict qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. The government has determined that FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items do not apply, although interested parties were given a window to propose commercial alternatives. Technical documentation and standards are available through the DoD Single Stock Point and ASSIST-Online, while the contract structure emphasizes not-to-exceed repair pricing and strict adherence to repair turnaround time requirements to avoid price reductions.
