AI Contract Overview
The School District of Somerset is seeking proposals for Category 2 internal connections to upgrade network infrastructure across three campuses: an elementary, middle, and high school. The project requires approximately 65 WiFi 6/6E wireless access points, preferably Aruba 635 or equivalent, including mounting brackets and a preference for five-year software licenses. Additionally, the district requires 15 switches with 48 POE/POE+ copper ports, Layer 3 Lite static routing, and standard VLAN functionality, along with necessary transceivers, DAC cabling for stacking, and associated five-year licensing. The scope of work includes all necessary installation, configuration, and activation services, which must be detailed per service request. Vendors are required to sign and submit a specific Proposal Overview document and include manufacturer details for all line items. While the district will consider product capabilities and the overall fit of the service provider, the primary evaluation factor for selection will be cost-effectiveness. Proposals must be submitted by January 26, 2026, and robotic or spam responses will be disqualified.

-Important Reminders to Service Providers/Vendors: -1. Read the Proposal Overview (file name: Proposal Overview 2BSIGNED Not an RFP) downloadable from the 470 application RFPS. Note: remember to add the manufacturer to the line item in the price proposal, either in a separate column, or within the item description, if relevant.- -2. Once downloaded sign the Proposal Overview and name the file Proposal Overview - Service Provider (Actual Service Provider Name Inserted)- -3. Be sure to include this Proposal Overview file as an attachment to your submitted proposal to the district.- -4. Reminder: The 470 application provides the District's best estimate of the number of items we are seeking in the "Quantity" field in order to indicate to potential service providers the size and scope of our project in the 470. Service providers are free to propose a higher or lower number in their proposals based on their assessment of our needs, if the proposals are clearly responding to our needs as described in the FCC Form 470. Cat1 requests are a bit more restrictive, but can provide a range of defined bandwidths.- -5. The District will select the most cost-effective proposal. The price of the eligible products and services must be the primary factor in the evaluation, but does not have to be the sole factor. The District will also consider additional factors such as the capabilities of manufacturer products/services proposed. The most effective fit between the service provider and the District, from the District's perspective, will be considered. The service provider's actions to construct a proper proposal per the District's expectations will also be evaluated. The District may consider other factors at their discretion. The District values valid clinical communication that does not provide an unfair advantage over any other participating service providers. For emphasis again: Price will be the highest weighted factor in the evaluation of proposals.-
