The contract involves the procurement of 20 units of a gasket connector (NSN 1R-5330-015297072-XE) to be delivered FOB origin to Sensor & Antenna Systems in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. This acquisition is a sole-source procurement, with the Government intending to negotiate exclusively with the currently approved source due to the flight-critical nature of the item and the lack of adequate technical data to support full and open competition. Potential suppliers who are not currently approved must submit comprehensive source approval information as specified in the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support brochures for spares or repair, along with any ongoing source approval documentation, to be considered. The timeline for approving new sources is lengthy and may impact award decisions, potentially leading the Government to proceed with the existing source to meet fleet support requirements. The notice clarifies that this is not a request for competitive quotes, though interested parties may express interest and provide quotes prior to award for consideration. The Government emphasizes that it does not have sufficient data to procure this part from other sources, reinforcing the necessity of existing source approval for this critical component. Additionally, the solicitation is not being conducted under FAR Part 12 for commercial items, but the Government invites responses indicating the capability to fulfill the requirement with commercial items within 15 days. Technical documentation and standards relevant to this procurement are accessible through the DoD Single Stock Point and ASSIST online platforms, though certain documents like patterns and drawings are not stocked there. The contracting agency is Navsup Weapon Systems Support office in Philadelphia, PA.
