The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the VA Pittsburgh UD Medical Center, has issued a justification for a sole source procurement for repair parts for E600L and E900L blending valves. These proprietary components are essential for the maintenance of hot water heaters, which require periodic replacement of valves due to corrosion and wear. The estimated value of the acquisition is 38,746.00 dollars. The contract is awarded to the Harold G. Jones Company, identified as the only local factory representative for Leslie Controls. Because the parts are proprietary to Leslie, the agency determined that no other sources could satisfy the requirement. This determination was supported by market research, including web searches and a notice posted on FedBizOps, which yielded no other capable vendors. The pricing was deemed fair and reasonable based on a comparison with previous purchase orders for the same items.
