This contract involves the fabrication of steel members for three-foot bridges, including I-beams, diaphragms, bearing plates, spacer plates, and retainer plates, all fabricated according to detailed drawings. The work includes required punching of holes and welding. Steel components such as I-beams and diaphragms must be made from ASTM-A36 Grade structural steel and coated with two coats of epoxy primer totaling 12 to 18 mils, applied over a near white metal finish per SSPC-SP10 standards. The bearing, spacer, and retainer plates must be fabricated from weathering steel ASTM-A588. Notably, nuts and bolts are excluded from this contract. Delivery of fabricated steel is specified to multiple locations within Mount Rainier National Park: North Puyallup steel to Kautz Creek Storage area, accessible via Highway 706 on the park’s west side, and Stevens Creek and Martha Creek steel to Backbone Ridge area off Stevens Canyon Road on the southeast side.
