Solicitation 36C24826Q0782 for the replacement of twelve commercial off-the-shelf automatic bi-fold sliding door assemblies at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, has been cancelled in its entirety by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The procurement, originally structured as a total set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses with a firm-fixed-price contract structure, was governed by FAR Part 12 commercial procedures and included a range of standard and tailored contract clauses addressing ethics, labor standards, whistleblower rights, subcontractor reporting, electronic payment, and compliance with Buy American, trafficking in persons, and Controlled Unclassified Information requirements. Quotations were to be submitted electronically by July 8, 2026, with evaluations based on a best-value approach where technical approach and experience—requiring three recent similar projects—were significantly more important than price. The Government reserved the right to inspect and reject nonconforming items and required electronic invoicing aligned with VA procedures, payment via EFT, and full compliance with federal statutes. The Contracting Officer determined that cancellation serves the Government’s best interest, and no award will be made under this solicitation. All submitted quotations will not be carried forward to any future procurement. The requirement is expected to be revised and re-synthesized under a new solicitation with a different numbering system, and interested parties must actively monitor SAM.gov for future notices. Submission requirements, including SAM registration, representation certifications, past performance data, and technical documentation, remain subject to change in the upcoming action. Vendors wishing to compete must ensure compliance with all new terms, including updated FAR and VAAR clauses, and resubmit entirely new quotations following the next solicitation’s specific instructions. The original point of contact, John H. Shultzaberger of the Network Contracting Office 8 in Tampa, Florida, will not be handling any future actions related to this requirement. No response to this cancellation notice is necessary.
