AI Contract Overview

The contract involves a five-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement for the procurement of ALQ-213 Countermeasures Set (CMS) shipsets and spares. These include four specific parts identified by National Stock Numbers and part numbers, with estimated quantities over the contract period of 521 units for the first item, 178 for the second, 355 for the third, and 394 for the fourth. The contract will be awarded to Terma A/S, located in Denmark, under the authority that allows for limited source procurement due to the specialized nature of the supplies, which are only available from one or a limited number of responsible sources. The procurement is justified by the unique requirement for these specific countermeasure sets and the lack of alternative sources meeting the agency’s needs. Potential offerors are encouraged to express interest or submit proposals, with the government emphasizing a point of contact for inquiries and an appointed Ombudsman to address unresolved concerns confidentially. The Ombudsman’s role is to facilitate communication without involvement in proposal evaluation or source selection, ensuring fairness and transparency in the acquisition process. This solicitation is active as of early 2002 and is publicly accessible for review.
