The Naval Surface Warfare Center in Panama City, Florida, is issuing a modification to contract N61331-05-C-0029 with Intermed Video Technologies to procure three 17-inch and five 10.4-inch flat panel displays. This procurement is necessary to secure spare monitors identified during a recent provisioning process, a requirement that was not established when the original contract quantities were determined. Intermed Video is designated as the sole source for this equipment as the original equipment manufacturer. These displays are already integrated into the navigation hardware and software for both non-SLEP and NDI replacement Landing Craft Air Cushion vessels. Utilizing a different supplier would result in excessive testing and qualification costs and would disrupt the existing logistics train. This action falls under NAICS code 334511 and FSC code 5820.

Full Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, Florida intends to issue a modification to contract N61331-05-C-0029 with Intermed Video Technologies of Newtown, CT for the procurement of three (3) additional 17 flat panel display and five (5) each 10.4 flat panel displays. This contract modification is required because recent completion of provisioning has identified the requirement for spare monitors. This requirement was only recently defined and was not known at the time the procurement quantities for contract N61331-05-C-0029 were established. This item is only available from Intermed Video. Currently the flat panel displays, originally manufactured by Intermed Video, have been installed on some of the non-SLEP LCACs (pre-LCAC 61) and one of the NDI replacement LCACs (LCAC 61 and above). These displays, as previously installed, are integrated into the SLEP navigation hardware and software that will form the basis for the NDI replacement gear. Any other displays! would require extensive testing and qualification costs, and duplicating the logistics train established for the non-SLEP LCACs. Intermed Video, as the OEM, is the only known source for this equipment. NAICS 334511 applies. FSC Code 5820.
