The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Kentucky Field Office intends to award a sole source purchase order to InterTest, Inc. for a specialized thermal camera system designed for non-invasive mammalian bat roost monitoring. This requirement is driven by the need to observe bat activity in diverse and challenging environments, such as caves, mines, bridges, and trees, without using white lighting that could disrupt natural behavior. The required system must be IP67-rated for durability in wet environments, utilize long-wave infrared (LWIR) imaging, and feature interchangeable germanium-window lenses to accommodate different survey views. To ensure portability and ease of use, the system is designed to be powered directly by a ruggedized tablet, which also serves as the interface for live footage viewing and data storage for images and video. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b), as the estimated value is expected to fall below the $250,000 simplified acquisition threshold.
