The Department of Defense is conducting a market survey to identify sources for a low cost Ground To Ground Combat Identification System. The government intends to procure approximately 4,000 systems that must be compliant with NATO Standardization Agreement STANAG 4579 to ensure interoperability with Joint and Coalition systems. Key performance and evaluation metrics include the total cost of the A and B kits as well as the latency of response. This opportunity is open to both domestic and international vendors. Interested parties are encouraged to provide suggestions on program structure, vehicle integration, and economic ordering quantities to help reduce overall costs, as well as any proposed enhancements to the NATO standards. Responses should include company history, a point of contact, and a CAGE code. While interim responses were requested by August 30, 2003, final submissions are due by September 12, 2003. This notice is for the exchange of capabilities and ideas and does not constitute a formal proposal request.
