Solicitation F14PS00650 Region 3, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to sole source a requirement for acoustic telemetry receivers and transmitters to track progression of the Asian Carp throughout the waterways of the Midwest. The Contractor is VEMCO, Nova Scotia, Canada. This requirement is in collaboration among the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Missouri Department of Conservation, West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and includes several other state agencies. Acoustic coded tags will be implanted into Asian Carp and tracked using fixed receivers and mobile tracking devices. Compatibility is a major concern when attempting to share cooperatively gathered information on movements and facilitate sharing of data. Transmitters and receivers, rated at 69 KHz, are currently used. To maintain complete compatibility among agencies, the continuation of 69 KHz for transmitters and receivers are required. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 335999, with a business size standard of 500. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement, based on responses, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Please contact Rick Hillard at contact@example.gov for any questions.
