The 3rd Contracting Squadron at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, seeks to acquire Bobtail/Trailer/Cable Testers, which are specialized 12-volt devices designed to test the continuity and functionality of tow vehicles, trailers, and cable wiring circuits using J560 SAE connectors. These testers simulate both vehicle and trailer functions to ensure serviceability. The procurement will be conducted as a sole source acquisition under statutory authority, reflecting that only one responsible source, Zitec of Niceville, Florida, can fulfill this requirement. The contract is expected to be a firm fixed-price purchase order, and no competitive solicitation will be issued. However, firms that believe they meet the requirements may submit written notifications with supporting evidence by a specified deadline. The NAICS code for this procurement is 335999, and the process is administered by the Department of Defense’s 673 Contracting Logistics office at JBER, AK. Although the Government intends to proceed without competition, responses received will be reviewed to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted. The primary points of contact include Mishell M Sonntog and Contracting Administrator Randal C Kyllo, both located at Elmendorf AFB. The notice emphasizes that the decision to forego competition remains at the Government's discretion based on the capabilities demonstrated in any submitted responses.
