This contract involves the procurement of eight units of a specific circuit card assembly, identified by NSN 7H-5998-014970008, for repair or modification purposes. The acquisition will be delivered FOB origin and issued to W R Systems Ltd. in Norfolk, Virginia. The government intends to negotiate the contract exclusively with a single source due to unique engineering, manufacturing, and repair knowledge held by the approved supplier, which is critical to maintaining the quality and design control of the part. Alternate sources may qualify only if they comply with stringent government-approved procedures overseen by the responsible design control activity. The contract is issued under FAR 6.302-1 authority, reflecting a sole-source negotiation rather than a competitive bid due to the proprietary nature of the data and specialized engineering skills necessary. Potential interested parties can express interest or submit quotes, which the government will consider within specified timeframes, but the final decision on competition rests solely with the government. The procurement does not follow the acquisition policies for commercial items under FAR Part 12, underscoring the specialized nature of the requirement. Additional documentation such as Military and Federal Specifications and Standards relevant to this procurement can be accessed through the Department of Defense Single Stock Point or online via ASSIST-Online. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense’s Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech office located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, with Michael Lindgren serving as the point of contact for further inquiries.

Request for Information: Additive Manufacturing
Solicitation # N0010427RZ058
The Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support is conducting market research through Request for Information N0010427RZ058 to identify qualified sources capable of designing, producing, and delivering piece part components or entire assemblies using additive manufacturing methods. The government is specifically interested in vendors who can meet rigorous manufacturing, material, performance, testing, and quality assurance requirements. While the current focus is on a candidate list of National Item Identification Numbers for valves, actuators, and manifolds, the government anticipates that Level I and SUBSAFE items may become eligible for additive manufacturing in the future. Interested businesses must provide detailed administrative data, descriptions of their manufacturing capabilities, facility certifications such as ISO 9001 or AS9100, and evidence of past performance with similar military or commercial hardware. Additionally, the government is soliciting industry feedback on the development of objective evaluation criteria and the structuring of performance-based incentives for future Firm-Fixed-Price contracts. All produced components must be fully interchangeable with traditionally manufactured equivalents and strictly adhere to the baselines established in Project Peculiar Document 802-8436658. Responses are due by October 22, 2026.
