AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of ten units of a specific circuit card assembly (NSN 7H-5998-016076499, TDP VER 002) to be delivered FOB origin. Due to the unavailability of physical data, detailed specifications, or drawings necessary for competitive acquisition, the government intends to negotiate this contract on a sole-source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested firms are encouraged to demonstrate their capability to supply this item, which is critical for military applications, and may submit proposals or capability statements within 45 days of the notice. The government emphasizes that this is not a competitive solicitation, but all responsible sources may express interest, and responses will be considered primarily to evaluate the possibility of future competitive procurement. The solicitation process involves accessing technical documents such as military standards, specifications, and qualified product lists through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) and ASSIST-Online systems, as these are essential for understanding the requirements. The contracting office, part of the Department of Defense’s Naval Supply Systems Command in Mechanicsburg, PA, will review submissions and determine whether to proceed with a competitive process based on the responses received. The notice also highlights that the procurement is for supplies or services that do not fall under the policies of FAR Part 12 for commercial items, but interested parties can indicate their ability to meet the requirements within the specified response period.
