This contract involves the procurement of Full Signal Translator units to support the Minuteman III Weapon System. The Air Force seeks to qualify an additional source for these solid-state, low-cost translators, which are designed for use in confined spaces such as reentry vehicles and ballistic missile interceptors to enable precise post-flight trajectory reconstruction. The project includes an initial requirement for three qualification units, with three subsequent options for 12 production units each, totaling a potential 39 units. Technical data for the equipment is maintained by the 526th ICBMSW at Hill Air Force Base, with limited engineering and testing support provided by the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Delivery for the base qualification units is set for April 30, 2009, with production options scheduled to roll out monthly between December 2009 and December 2010. Award is contingent upon the offeror meeting specific qualification requirements in accordance with federal acquisition regulations.
