The U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center's Natick Contracting Division, representing the Shelters Technology, Engineering & Fabrication Directorate, plans to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to United Electronics Corporation for specialized cables needed to support the Integrated Ballistic Missile Defense System Program. The purchase includes specific quantities and types of pigtail and service/feeder cables with varying amperage ratings and lengths, all required under a DX Industrial Priority Rating. United Electronics Corporation is uniquely qualified as a MIL-Approved manufacturer for the connectors on these cables, has the necessary parts in stock, and can meet the accelerated delivery schedule. Market research conducted revealed that military stock does not have these items available within the required timeframe, justifying the sole source procurement. No other factors restricting competition were identified, nor are there current plans to address competitive barriers for future acquisitions. Interested parties were invited to express their interest by a specified deadline, although no solicitation was issued since this is not a request for proposals but a notice for future reference. The contracting office and point of contact for this action are located at the Natick Contracting Division in Massachusetts, with Steven Streeter serving as the contract specialist overseeing this procurement.
